Two Upcoming Writing Contests

Two different opportunities to submit your writing in contests are coming up this month.

Go! magazine is hosting a contest for short fiction stories and nonfiction articles submitted by writers aged 13 through 18. Pieces submitted must focus on some aspect of transportation and prizes are offered for the best short story, the best nonfiction article, and the best entry by a student writer. The deadline for submission is May 28. Click here for more information.

The Young Voices Foundation is also hosting a short story contest with categories open to students from kindergarten through 12th grade. The subject is up to you! You are encouraged to "pay attention to craft as well as creativity." Prizes are offered for first through third places in each category. The deadline for submission is May 31.
