Young Writing Community Comes through at the Open Mic!

Writopia Lab hosted an open mic reading at Housing Works Bookstore Cafe on Friday evening. As Writopia writers, Scholastic 2009 winners, and writers from various schools took their seats, a community of talented, supportive young writers emerged. It was a beautiful and inspiring event!

In the Media: Amazon/Scholastic/Writopia Event!

The Northwest Passages, a DC newspaper, wrote a lovely feature story about Writopia and the Scholastic Awards while covering our December 12th event at Woodrow Wilson HS. The event was funded by Amazon and Scholastic, and was a great success. Twenty-one students came to write, and every one of registered for the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards!

Upcoming Reading in Washington, DC

Writopia Lab DC's young writers will be reading their latest stories at the Cleveland Park Library on Saturday, January 9th from 3 PM to 5 PM. Please come out and support these talented, enthusiastic writers as they share their work.
